Dental Implants

Dental implants are one of the best options for replacing missing teeth, if you're a suitable candidate.  

They look and feel like natural teeth, so no one needs to know that you've got them on.  Dentures come with metal clasps, which may be noticeable when you smile, speak or eat - depending on where it is inside of your mouth.  Dentures can also become ill-fitting over time, so it can become loose, uncomfortable and no longer function well.  Implants can last well over 10 years, if cared for properly - you do have to pay attention to the gums surrounding the implant and make sure to clear away food particles and bacteria so that the area doesn't get infected. 

When compared to bridges (another replacement option), implants are much easier to clean - just brush and floss like normal.  To care for a bridge, you'd be asked to floss underneath the appliance to make sure there is nothing trapped underneath that can cause build-up residue, inflammation and infection.
